Recap:  The weather was perfect and when we arrived at 0730 the two kegs were tapped and ready for action. Golfers started rolling in shortly thereafter and the day was off and running.   This year was rough in terms of conflicts but 32 golfers teed it up at the 7th Annual Earle Cup, 18 of whom are Delt brothers and 4 of whom are sons of Delt brothers. We were joined by 5 brothers from Fiji, 4 from Theta Delt, one of whom is from Lehigh, and one from Chi Phi We also had one participant who is a ’16 graduate of Georgia Tech, one a ’17 graduate of St. Jos, and one who is a student at TCNJ.

Once again, the golf and F&B staffs of Jericho National treated us like members throughout the day/evening and they couldn’t have been more accommodating or hospitable.  The course was immaculate and the food was delicious. The boxed lunches at the turn are always a welcome sight as there was a great variety of wraps with chips, fruit cups, and drinks.  The BBQ dinner was really good as we’ve become accustomed. We did our best to kick the 2nd keg but we fell short and more importantly, all made it home without incident.

We were pleased to welcome fellow LC alums Jim Turner, Bob Cannon, and Bill Parkes who all made their Earle Cup maiden voyages this year.  The last time we saw these guys we were saddled up to a frat bar three and a half decades ago. These 3 guys fit in seamlessly and we are hoping that they will all join us next year for the 8th annual event. We also welcomed Michael Connor, Tom’s youngest son who slid over from TCNJ and who someday will be asking us old guys to fill spots at his golf outing.

Last year, we were all looking forward to the participation of Mike “Gags” Gagliardi ’81 who didn’t disappoint and displayed the cagey course management that he perfected as a youth growing up and learning his craft in the caddy yard on the hallowed grounds of Winged Foot. Gags putted the lights out last year and led his team of ’81 Delts (Scott Laird, Ed Fager, Steve Paul) to the title. Unfortunately, Gags and Squanto could not attend this year but their names are forever engraved on The Cup.

It was great to see that Tom Ellison brought his two sons again, Jake for his 4th Cup and Nathan (Georgia Tech) for his second.  Jake teamed with his Dad, Pete Demers, and Pete’s son, Eric (St. Joe’s), who seem to always be in the hunt for the Delt Invitational trophy. For the second consecutive year they lost in a match of cards.  Next year will be another dogfight at Jericho National.

image037.jpgimage039.jpgEarle Cup Results.  We are very pleased to announce that the 6 time defending champs return to the throne and will have bragging rights this year. The returning Earle Cup Champions are Tom O’Connor ’82, Jim Valenti ’82, Dave Marione ’82, and Pete Ramsey ’82. The shot of the day was Dave’s drive on the par 4 8th hole that settled about 8’ behind the flag.  JKV calmly rolled in the L-R breaker for eagle! They scored a 6 under 66.

Delt Invitational Results.  In a match of cards, the Fiji boys defended their Delt Invitational crown by sneaking past the 2014 Champs – the Ellison/Demers team. Both groups shot 7 under 65’s and should be commended for great rounds.  The winning team from Fiji includes Bill Tucker ’81, Mike Corbo ’82, Pete Geosits ’81, and Slick Watts ’81.  The tie breaker was Fiji’s back nine 34 that bested our bros by one. Congratulations to our 3-Peat friends from Fiji for defending their Delt Invitational Title.

Cost:                   $155 per golfer includes greens fees, range balls, cart, box lunch, BBQ dinner, promotional gift, prizes, unlimited keg beer, laughs & unforgettable memories

Format:              Scramble with Shotgun start at 9:00 am

Brothers and Select Friends –

I’m confident that as soon as February rolled around you have all been eagerly awaiting the details for this year’s Earle Cup so that you can commit the funds and lock in your foursomes.  In today’s political climate there’s enough global sabre-rattling that you don’t need me to foist my golf outing convictions or to exert my influence upon you, but I would encourage you to act quickly if you want to join as we have a headcount cap and we do expect to bump into it shortly after this e-blast hits.

Following tradition, we are holding the event on June 3, the Friday of LC’s Homecoming Weekend in the hopes that brothers who are traveling in for the reunion will join our festivities (the certain highlight of the weekend) at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA.  The formal invite is attached and we again offer you the option of mailing a check to me or paying via PayPal – details of both options are included in the invite.  If paying via PP, please link your bank account so we receive the gross amount.

This is our 7th annual event and we have a solid core of loyal brothers and close friends who participate every year.  We look forward to another classic day of challenging golf, spirited competition, fraternal fellowship with brothers spanning 7 decades of Delts, and of course, an occasional adult beverage.  We will be filling the golf slots first with Delts and the defending champs from Fiji, before we open it up to any other LC fraternity teams.

Last year’s outing recap is also attached for extra motivation for this year.  We hope that Gags will be back to defend The Earle Cup title along with his ’81 brothers (Freddie, Squanto, and Drysdale).  We have a score to settle and we are all gunning for you guys.  The same can be said for the 2-time defending champs from Fiji (Corbs, Slick, Pete G, and Tuck) – you guys have a target on your backs, especially after winning on a match of cards last year against the ’14 champs who are honing their games even as I write this email.

We hope that many of you will be able to join us on June 2.

Best to all.

On behalf of the Nu Chapter Delt Golf Committee:

Tom O’Connor ‘82

Dave Marione ‘82

Jim Valenti ‘82

Pete Ramsey ‘82

We remain fraternally yours,

Pete

We are back at Jericho National for another opportunity to play a fun and challenging course with your Delt brothers and select friends.  A word of caution – the club has again limited our headcount this year and we expect to hit our cap so committing early is paramount to ensuring your spot.  Several Delt golfers had prior commitments last year so we are anticipating that they will return this year and our slots will fill quickly. We are 3 plus months out so it’s an ideal time to block the date in your calendar and spend the entire day/evening enjoying the camaraderie of your brothers and reactivating the dormant competitive juices that will surely precipitate during the spirited competition.

The golf is always fun and the scramble format will allow participants of all skill levels to factor into the scoring.  Although there are bragging rights to be earned by the winning Delt team who will hold the coveted Earle Cup for the year, and the winning non-Delt team who will hold the esteemed Delt Invitational Trophy for the year, the true enjoyment comes from spending the day with your brothers, most of whom you don’t see nearly often enough.  It’s fun to reconnect with guys you haven’t seen in several decades but you’ll be amazed how the elapsed time evaporates when you’re saddled up to the keg lubricating the joints & muscles, easing the first tee jitters, and re-living the glory days up on the hill.

As always, receipt of your check or PayPal funds confirms your commitment, secures your spot, and

allows us to make progress payments to the host club and procure the promotional gifts and award prizes.  We suggest you pony up early as this year has the makings of the best outing yet with an A-list of stars and golfers.

Checks can be made out to me and sent to:

PayPal funds can go to pramsey@ecs-energy.com.

The 2016 Earle Cup had 43 golfers as pictured below. The 2-Time defending Delt Invitational Trophy champions are the boys from Fiji (Slick, Tuck, Corbs, and Pete G) who won on a match of cards with an impressive 64.  The defending Earle Cup champions are the ’81 Delts (Freddie, Squanto, Drysdale, and Gags) with a remarkable and stunning 65.

6th Annual Earle Cup – Delt Invitational Golf Outing

Jericho National Golf Club, New Hope, PA Friday, June 3, 2016

Recap: The weather forecast was awful but aside from a slight mist on the initial tee balls, we were spared any further rain and enjoyed a comfortable day on a well-conditioned golf course. 43 golfers teed it up at the 6th Annual Earle Cup, 30 of whom are Delt brothers and 3 of whom are sons of Delt brothers. We were joined by 4 brothers from Fiji, 2 from Zete, 1 from Chi Phi, and 2 from Theta Delt, one of whom is from Lehigh. We also had one participant who is a ’14 graduate of TCNJ.

Once again, the golf and F&B staffs of Jericho National treated us like members throughout the day/evening and they couldn’t have been more accommodating or hospitable. The course was immaculate and the food was delicious. Too bad one of the groups missed the boxed lunches at the turn as there was a great variety of wraps with chips, fruit cups, and drinks. The BBQ dinner was really good as we’ve become accustomed. We did our best to kick the 2nd keg but we fell short and more importantly, all made it home without incident.

Worthy of special mention, we welcomed Don Kress ‘58 back again this year and he soldiered along throughout the course of the event like the true Delt stallion that he is. He was joined by fellow Delts Jim Kellett and Al Brink, both class of ’70, who were making their Earle Cup maiden voyages and fit in seamlessly with this spirited group of frat boys. Jim and Al have already voiced their intent to return for the 7th annual event next year.

All of us were looking forward to the participation of Mike “Gags” Gagliardi ’81 who displayed the cagey course management that he perfected as a youth growing up and learning his craft in the caddy yard on the hallowed grounds of Winged Foot. We also welcomed some more new LC blood with some brothers from Zete, namely, Charlie Streface ’81 and Phil Duvall ’81. They teamed up with veteran Earle Cup performer Dave Turner ’81 and my good friend and business partner, Jim Carbone ’85, both Theta Delts, the latter of whom is a Mountain Hawk.

It was great to see that Tom Ellison brought his two sons, Jake for his 3rd Cup and Nathan (Georgia Tech ’16) for his first. Jake teamed with his Dad, Pete Demers, and Pete’s son, Eric, who are always in the hunt for the Delt Invitational trophy.

Earle Cup Results. I am very pleased to announce that there’s a new sheriff in town, and his name is not Reggie Hammond. The 5 time defending champs have been dethroned and pretty sure de-cleated as well!!!! The new Earle Cup Champions are Ed Fager ’81, Scott Laird ’81, Steve Paul ’81, and Mike Gagliardi ’81. Congratulations boys!! Enjoy the title, get the trophy engraved, and be aware that all of the Delt teams will be gunning for you next year. They scored a very impressive 7 under 65.

5th Annual Earle Cup/ Delt Invitational Golf Outing

Delt Brothers and Select Friends –

Thanks to all who participated in the Earle Cup golf outing that was held June 5 at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA.  We had 40 golfers again this year and we’re happy to report that the course remains intact and no injuries were reported.  At our advanced ages, the primary goal when playing any sport is “don’t get hurt.”  In part, I believe that Mother Nature contributed to the injury-free event as we were delayed a solid hour before tee-off due to torrential rains that drove 40 golfers to the gazebo covered patio area where the keg served as our liquid golf range.  The 60 min delay at the keg was much more effective in lubricating our muscles and minds than a humbling range session would have been.  It proved to be a nice way to start the day with some early fellowship as we saddled up to the keg with our new Phi Delt and Chi Phi friends and returning brothers from Fiji and Theta Delt.  Once the skies began clearing, we headed out to our respective tees and began chopping our way around the course.  The day turned out to be very comfortable and we were once again treated like members throughout the day enjoying the challenging and fun course as well as the after-golf BBQ and festivities.

As we discussed briefly at the awards ceremony, we will have some decisions to make next year when we hope to return a full complement of Delts as well as our invited guests who we hope will all return to the 2016 event.  We will attempt to return to Jericho National on Friday June 3 if they can accommodate the larger group that we anticipate.  If they cannot, we will weigh other course options for the Friday before LC’s Reunion Weekend.  We will keep you posted but would encourage all of you to lock the date into your calendars and guard the date from here forward against any business or personal intrusions that would otherwise prevent you from participating.

Now for the recap of the spirited event that was separated into two competitions, with participants vying for the coveted hardware reserved for the champion teams, namely, the Earle Cup and the Delt Invitational Trophy.  The Earle Cup is eligible to teams that are exclusively comprised of Delt brothers and the Delt Invitational Trophy is eligible to teams that include at least one non-Delt.  Here are this year’s results and some highlights:

We are assembling some photos of the event that will be uploaded to the www.lafayettedelts.com website in the coming days.  The group shot is attached.

Special shout out to Don Kress ’58 who made great efforts to join us and by all accounts, had a great time mixing with his Delt brothers and our other Greek friends.  It was awesome to see Brian Miles ’84, Mark Delehey ’85, and Dave Scott ’87 who made their Earle Cup maiden voyages and we hope will be fixtures at the event in future years.  We had many Greek newcomers this year including Phi Delts (Alan Good ‘78, Mark Aitken ‘76, Gary Chavers ‘77, George Hahn ‘78), Theta Delts (Jeff Leonard ’82, Phil Cinelli ’82 who joined stalwart John Lynch ’82 and his friend Tony Rubino) and my baseball teammate Dave Daniels ’85 from Chi Phi.  Great job by all and we welcome you all back in 2016.  Thanks to Mike Moroney ‘83 who showed for the pre-gamers and Greg Eggert ‘79 who joined for the post-gamers.

Next year we will all be gunning for the boys from Fiji (Slick, Tuck, Corbs and Pete G.) who threw out a smooth 10 under par 62.  That is a new Delt Invitational record and sets the bar at a whole new level.  Glad that we and our Delt brothers are competing in the JV Division!!!!

Once again, our sincere thanks to all of the brothers and invited friends who made this year’s event a success.  We’d love to see all of you back again next year as we organically grow this event at the pace we choose.  In the meantime, we are looking forward to assembling on College Hill this Fall at the Leopard football tailgates with award winning Master Chefs John Plumeri ’78 and Mike Moroney ’83.

Hope to see you guys soon. Enjoy the summer!

Well-played all!!!!

Delt Brothers and Select Friends –

“Golf is an unusual game. When you have a good day, you can’t wait to get back out there, and when you have a bad day, you can’t wait to get back out there.”

Another long winter and as I look out the window all I see are mounds of snow.  It’s hard to believe that Spring is just a month away and that will bring thoughts of a thaw and the start of a new golf season.  Don’t know about you but I was glad to shelve the clubs after last season as the game was a mess and the mind even more cluttered.  Even so, the start of every golf season brings high hopes and I am now eager to get back out there with a clean slate and more importantly, a clear mind.  I am certain that my fellow golf mates reading this email feel the same way.

We hope that you already have the 5th Annual Earle Cup/ Delt Invitational Golf Outing slotted in your calendars for June 5.  The details of the outing are provided herein, but please plan to spend the entire day and evening with us if you can.  If not, we welcome you for food, cocktails, and fraternal fellowship after the round of golf.   We aim to continue the momentum we have been gathering over recent years as we strive to grow this event for the 5th consecutive year.  The 150th Anniversary rivalry football game last Fall at Yankee Stadium drew Delts and other alumni from across the nation and many folks that we talked to and toasted with, expressed sincere interest in joining this year’s golf event.  We welcome you all.

Last year 40 golfers teed it up at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA and competed for the Earle Cup and the Delt Invitational Trophy.  As we mentioned in our recap email after the ’14 event, we are returning to Jericho National again this year, as we were and will be, treated like club members for the day and we get to play a solid golf track with a first class clubhouse and amenities.  We have been welcomed back by the events staff and the golf staff so clearly we have refined our collective acts since we rocked the Hill some 4 decades ago ………..   no wonder the body aches, the memory is foggy and I don’t recover well!  We have a solid and loyal core of Delt brothers from classes ’79-’85 who participate in this event each year and last year we welcomed some new faces from ’75 who fit in famously, added significantly to the event, and who hopefully will return and extend our reach to other Delt classes who are not yet represented.  Our goal for the 2015 event is 50 golfers so please get your recruiting hats on and do your part to rush fellow Delt brothers that you don’t see in the attached photo.

We send thanks out to our good friends over at Fiji who supported our outing last year and added to the camaraderie and spirit of the event and the competition.  We are certainly expecting you back this year.  We also send a shout out to our good friend John Lynch from Theta Delt who was a welcome addition last year and we hope will become a stalwart again this year and every year.  We expect a return of John’s fraternity brother Dave Turner to this year’s outing so we can ratchet up the competition for the Delt Invitational trophy, that is awarded to the non-Delt team that has the lowest score in the Scramble format.

That’s about it for now.  Hit the simulator to sharpen your game, reach out to brothers not copied herein, lock in June 5 on your Outlook calendars, and get pumped to join your brothers and compete for The Cup and the DIT.

4th ANNUAL DELT GOLF CLASSIC – THE EARLE CUP

Delt Brothers and Select Friends -

Thanks to all of you who participated in the Earle Cup golf outing that was held at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA on June 6.  We had 40 golfers and 44 brothers & friends at the post-round BBQ.  Everyone that we talked with had a blast.  The venue proved to be perfect as we were treated like members, played a challenging yet fun course, and had an entire patio area and private room to ourselves.  It didn’t hurt that the weather was sunny and 75 and we had kegs flowing throughout the day & evening - but then again, we deserved that after the 2013 monsoon at Architects Club that tested our resolve last year.  The good news is that we behaved ourselves and displayed just enough decorum that the club will welcome us back and, Joe McNulty remains in good stead with the in-laws.  In fact, we have already staked our claim and made a deposit for next year’s Earle Cup and we’re happy to report that we will be back at Jericho National on Friday June 5, 2015.  We hope that you will lock that date in your calendars now and guard the date from here forward against any business or personal intrusions that would otherwise prevent you from participating.

Now for the recap of the spirited event that was separated into two competitions, vying for the coveted hardware reserved for the champion teams, namely, the Earle Cup and the inaugural Delt Invitational Trophy.  The Earle Cup is eligible to teams that are exclusively comprised of Delt brothers and the Delt Invitational Trophy is eligible to teams that include at least one non-Delt.  Here are this year’s results:

Contest                                  Winner                                                                                                  Score/Comments

Longest Putt made – #9      Dave ‘Love you long time’ Marione ’82                                           20’ – “nice breaker for birdie”

Delt Invitational Trophy      P. Demers ’85, T. Ellsion ’85, Eric Demers, Jake Ellison                 65 – 7 under par, 7 birds, no bogeys

3rd Place non-Delts              J. Lynch ’82, M. Fahey ’85, J. Carbone ’85, S. Brooks ’84              68 – 4 under par, 6 birds, 2 bogeys

Earle Cup                               T. O’Connor, J. Valenti, D. Marione, P. Ramsey - ’82                      65 – 7 under par, 1 eagle, 8 birds

2nd Place Delts                      J. McNulty, C. DiPiazza - ’81, T. Cannon, K. Conners - ’79              68 – 4 under par, 5 birds, 1 bogey

3rd Place Delts                       G. Ramsey, M. McCourt, D. Leiby - ’81, C. Shumaker ’84              69 – 3 under par, 3 birds, no bogeys

4th Place Delts                       G. Oberrender, M. Guadagno, P. Simon, J. Layng - ’75                  72 – even par, 3 birds, 3 bogeys

5th Place Delts                       R. Robinson ’77, S. Beisler, P. Gummeson, K. Blair  - ’80               73 – 1 over par, 4 birds, 3 bgy, 1 dbl

6th Place Delts                       J. Alderisio, J. Stubeck, J. Torrence, J. Burton - ’83                        74 – 2 over par, 1 bird, 3 bogeys

7th Place Delts                       S. Laird ’81, S. Bush ’81, S. Paul ’81, E. Fager ’81                            75 – 3 over par, 1 bird, 4 bogeys

The scramble format with no restrictions on number of drives hit by each team member is designed to make the competition fun and fair for all players regardless of whether you play often or infrequently or are a seasoned golfer or a beginner.  All of the teams played well and all of the teams are to be commended for completing the round in just over 4 hours.  That pace of play was very much appreciated by the Head Pro who was very concerned that we would not adhere to his 4 hour 15 minute pace of play edict ……..  silly boy - I guess he didn’t realize the extent to which the kegerator and patio were beckoning us.

We are assembling photos from the outing and Dave will upload them to the www.lafayettedelts.com website in due time.  A few photos are attached and we intend to distribute more to the individual teams as time permits.

Once again, our sincere thanks to all of the brothers and friends who made this year’s event so special.  We’d love to see all of you back again next year at Jericho as we organically grow this event at the pace we choose.  In the meantime, we are looking forward to assembling on College Hill at next season’s football tailgates with Master Chefs Plumeri and Moroney as well as at the 150th Rivalry Game at Yankee Stadium on Nov 22.

Have a great summer!

Well-played all!!!!!

Delt Brothers –

Reaching out to let you know that we are holding the 4th Annual Delt Golf Outing at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA on June 6.  Details are included in the e-blast below.  We have 30 brothers who have committed already and are hoping that we’ll get another 20.

It would be great to see many you and others I will be meeting for the first time.

It’s a great time I can assure you.

Pete

Bros –

Here’s the first update:

·         First check received – Rob Robinson ’77 – da man!!

·         First foursome committed – Alderisio, Stubeck, Burton, Torrence – all class of ’83.  The big sound!

·         McNulty’s foursome is intact as is ours.  Game on!!

·         We have positive responses from TC, Freddie, Renob, Tommy Ellison, The Boss (McCourt), and the Beez.

·         Still awaiting the Fargo foursome but confident he will accept the O’Connor challenge.

·         If we exceed 32 golfers, the club will send us out in a modified shotgun so we’d all be starting and finishing at about the same time.  It will help our planning if you can commit early so please keep the responses rolling in.

With 20” of new snow in the past 24 hours, the Delt outing seems like a mirage.  I’ve been practicing my Slopestyle moves off the snow banks but I’d rather be working on my short game in FL.  For now, the outing planning will have to be my sanity.

Humor me, commit early, buck the Delt procrastination tendency – it’s over-rated.

Let’s do this!

Pete

Fellow Nu Chapter Brothers –

If you guys are anything like me you have had enough of the snow and cold weather, are painfully tired of Bridgegate, and are anxiously awaiting the Spring thaw and warmer days that signify a new golf season.  Although the weather cooperated at Met Life stadium, the Super Bowl was a dud with Peyton looking ADHD in the pocket and as confused as we’ve seen Eli who stunk up the same joint this season.  On the positive side, Lafayette found a QB this year who already led us to a rout of the Mountain Squirrels and a Patriot League championship as a frosh!  We look to be well positioned for a good run over the next few years which should make for a fun time at the 150th Anniversary of the rivalry at Yankee Stadium next year.  If the football team continues to perform, there actually might be a few folks who voluntarily enter Fisher Field during the legendary Moroney and Plumeri tailgate festivities.  Also positive is the fact that Lafayette now has a President who attends the Delt tailgates, engages with the students and the alumni, and even partakes in the consumption of adult beverages.  She brings a personality to the position and an energy to the administration that gives us hope that we may someday re-colonize the Nu Chapter.  Pitchers and catchers report this week so Spring is in our minds and it’s appropriate that we turn our attention to the 4th Annual Earle Cup!

Last year, 28 Delts, one Theta Delt, and one DU braved a monsoon at the Architects Club and although only a few holes were played, a good time was had by all – see the attached photo.  Even though Mother Nature did her best to squash our golf plans, when Delts assemble together, there is no weather event that can dampen our spirits or impact our ability to enjoy our time with our fellow brothers.  I feel that we are gaining momentum every year with this event and this year stands to be another step forward as we look to draw more brothers and grow the outing.  Last year’s challenge was for each Delt golfer to bring another brother to the event.  This effort brought some new faces like Greg Maddock, Rick Hartung, Jim Burton, and Keith Blair.  Hopefully these guys will join our other stalwart brothers as annual locks and we’ll reach out to additional new faces to join us at this year’s event.  For the first time, we tested the waters of bringing in non-Delts with the inclusion of Dave Turner, ‘81 from T-Delt and Charlie Costenbader, ‘82 from DU.  Dave and Charlie fit in famously and will be welcomed back this year.  The Earle Cup will be reserved for the champion Delt team each year and if we decide to invite teams from other frats, we can decide whether to crown a non-Delt champion as well.

I am very excited to report that this year’s outing will be held at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA.  We can thank Brother McNulty for taking the lead on this effort as he is shagging the owner’s daughter, who fortunately is his beautiful wife and the mother of his children (our good friend Des).  Jericho National is a great venue with a championship golf course that will present a fresh option to our traditional host, Architects.  We opted to choose a course that wasn’t in as close proximity to the campus in the hopes that we might draw additional brothers from the south who are not returning to the Hill for the reunion but would like to participate in the golf outing.  The reunion weekend at LC is June 6-8 so any brothers that are attending the reunion can head up 611 to campus after the outing and catch pottery making on the quad or helmet polishing at Kirby House.

THE 2014 EVENT:

What:                   4th ANNUAL DELT GOLF CLASSIC – THE EARLE CUP

Tee times will be arranged and proceed at 10 minute intervals

Keg will be tapped prior to first tee time to ensure ample swing lubrication and will flow throughout the event

Where:                Jericho National Golf Club

                                250 East Brownsburg Road

                                New Hope, PA 18938

                                (215) 862-8800

The golf is always fun and the format will allow participants from all skill levels to factor into the scoring.  Although there are bragging rights to be earned by the winning team who will hold the coveted Earle Cup for a full year, the true enjoyment of the event comes from the fellowship and camaraderie of spending the day with your brothers, many of whom you don’t see nearly often enough and others who you will be meeting for the first time.  It is a day that we look forward to each year and one that should become a perpetuity on your calendars along with whatever other golf outings you support each year.  I would encourage you to block June 6 on your calendar now and slot the full day/evening and then adjust all meetings, conference calls, and appointments to not conflict with that day.  Plan now and spend the day with your brothers on June 6.

We are holding a House Corporation meeting at Joe McNulty’s in Flemington this Tues at 6:30 pm.  The golf outing will be one of the agenda items that we will discuss.  I will periodically send e-blast updates about the outing but would encourage you to commit early and forward this email to other brothers who are not on the distribution list.  Tom O’Connor has challenged the class of ’84 to join our event so we are looking for Fargo et al to step up with a 4some to join Charlie Shumaker who comes from long distances every year yet still has been a pillar of support ………..  and he has a lot of game too!

Receipt of your checks confirms your commitment and allows us to make progress payments to the host club and plan the promotional gifts and award prizes.  Checks can be made out to me and sent to:

Pete Ramsey

316 W. Stevens Ave

Wyckoff, NJ 07481

Dave Leiby and Tom Mohler get freebies this year since they paid last year and didn’t make it to the event.  Mike Moroney and Bob Doherty paid for the dinner and post-round festivities but couldn’t make it either so they are exempt this year, although we hope that they will opt to join us as golfers this year.  Architects gave us some free weekday round vouchers (M-Th) as a concession for the monsoon so perhaps we can play a practice round at Architects early this Spring in advance of The Cup at Jericho National.  We’ll send an e-blast to the brotherhood once we formulate a plan.

That’s about it for now.  Hit the simulators to sharpen your game, reach out to brothers not copied herein, lock in June 6 on your Outlook calendars, and get pumped to join your brothers and compete for The Cup.

“I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.” – Ty Webb

Looking forward to seeing you all on June 6.  On behalf of my fellow golf committee members – brothers Marione, O’Connor, Valenti, Robinson, Demers, and McNulty, I remain,

Humbled to be your brother,

Pete
